The Quarter On the South Side of the Hill
Other mosaics are visible along the south slope of the hill, not far from the 'House of the Mosaics'. They have geometrical motifs and figured polychrome panels as well as animals in a row (a dolphin and a sea-horse). The excavation of the complex to which these mosaics belong has revealed a series of rooms, some roofed and some open to the sky, a cistern with three small basins, and a latrine.
Moving southwards a series of steps cut into the rock lead to a multi-roomed building facing the sea: the east room is characterized by niches in the walls.
